About Jil

Since Jil was young, she found art as an outlet for expressing herself. She has always been interested in portraits and people in general. From a young age, she was drawing lots and lots of mermaids and fairies. By the time she was 12 years old, she was interested in the style anime. This taught her the basics of drawing a face and body, but she eventually strayed away from anime and began drawing realism.

Almost every Saturday morning, Jil's dad would wake her up to watch Bob Ross's TV show on PBS! If you don't know who Bob Ross is, he is an artist who uses oil paint. In his episodes, he shows the audience simple techniques with oil paint that make it easy to create beautiful landscapes. So, her love of painting began with Bob Ross. She started with acrylic painting, mainly for her family and friends since she wasn't serious about her art just yet, but oil painting came later when she was about 16 or so.

Mediums Jil likes to work with are watercolor, pen, acrylic, oil, charcoal, and many more to come!

Jil attended Early College High School from 2014-2018, which was a fast-paced high school that squished one year into one semester. So Jil finished high school in just 2 years, and started going to college in 2016. She was unsure what to major in, so for a couple semesters, she majored in University Studies. After she realized that she loved psychology, she changed her major to Behavioral Sciences. Unfortunately, Jil realized that college wasn’t her thing, and decided to stop going in 2018.

Nevertheless, she graduated high school in 2018, and has college credit now. :)
